If you are boating in Florida, state law requires that anyone under the age of 22 have a state-issued boating safety education certificate in order to be the sole operator of a vessel. If you have met this requirement, then you do not need to be accompanied by a person over 21 years of age while operating. There is also an additional requirment for PWC operators.
