Need Help 5/15/2005 8:20 PM

Was out boating last weekend ,everything was a-o-k.stopped for awhile, starting heading back to my dock, throttled up and ws trying to plane out was very rough getting up on plane.r.p.m's dropped and it took the boat awhile to get on plane then when i trimmed it out on plane the rpms went through the roof and the boat slowed down felt like the prop was not engaging or slipping .It's a 2004 tahoe q4 w/i/o mercruiser v6.any ideas on where to look for problems?looked at prop on shore but couldnt see

You may have spun your prop. Did you hit anything recently with your drive? Depending on the prop design there is a rubber "connection" between the drive shaft and the prop that is designed to fail if the prop strikes something to save the outdrive. The prop would work at low speeds, but the engine will race at higher throttle setting.
Try changing the prop.
